NO WORKER WILL BE SACKED IN OSUN – Aregbesola

The present administration in the State of Osun has restated her commitment to good repositioning of the state work force, giving better living condition to all categories of workers and placement of workers’ welfare among activities on her first line charge if re-elected for a new four year term.

The state governor, esola Mr. Rauf Adesoji Aregb, stated this while debunking rumours making the round that his administration will retrench workers if re-elected for another four year term at his re-election campaign rally for Boripe, Ifelodun and Odo- Otin Federal Constituency of the state held at Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government.

Governor Aregbesola said his administration does not believe in reducing her workforce under any guise but in employing more hands into the state’s workforce whenever opportunities arise saying workers are the constant engine room through which any virile state could be developed and should be well handled by governments at all levels.

Describing himself as an agent of development sent to the State of Osun by God Almighty, Governor Aregbesola said the next four years will bring monumental development to the state if re-elected into office adding that the role of workers in this regard is central and cannot be taken for granted by anyone.

He said the delay being witnessed in the payment of workers’ salary was a fallout of shortfall in monthly allocation accruable to the state from the federation account saying salary for the month of May has been paid into bank while that of June would be paid in a couple of days.

Speaking on the activities of okada riders in the state, Governor Aregbesola said his administration will not ban them, as being rumoured in some quarters, saying the contribution of okada riding to the reduction of youth unemployment in the State of Osun cannot be over-emphasized.

In her address to the mammoth crowd that besieged the venue, the state’s Deputy Governor, Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, appealed to the people of the state to reciprocate the good gesture of Governor Aregbesola to them by coming out enmasse and re-elect him for another four years during the August 9, 2014 gubernatorial election in the state.

Mrs. Laoye-Tomori said another four year term will provide to the governor an ample opportunity to complete all the ongoing people oriented projects being embark upon by the present administration.

On his part, the first civilian governor in the State of Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, said Governor Aregbesola’s antecedents in the last forty-three months in office speak volume for all that lie ahead to the people of the state if Governor Aregbesola could be re-elected come August 9 this year.

Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State of Osun, Elder Adelowo Adebiyi, urged the people not to sell their voters’ cards describing it as the only true weapon with which they can influence, safeguard and protect their future and that of their unborn generation.

Elder Adebiyi also charged traders to arrest anyone who ask them to come and pay ten thousand naira tax describing them as fake adding that relief is coming the way of workers and OYES members as the state government is working round the clock to make life better for them.

Governor Aregbesola had earlier visited the Akirun of Ikirun, Oba Adesola Lawal Adedeji, in his palace where royal fathers in the federal constituency gave him their royal blessings.
